Recycled Tin Jewellery
Tangentyere Artists has recycled some of the abandoned everyday objects found in and around the town camps into handcrafted jewellery.
An experimental workshop on jewellery making led to a young artist beginning a trend by experimenting with what she could find. Largely Louise Daniels, and her family living in one of Alice Springs’ Town Camps are driving the recycled tin jewellery making.
The earrings are made from recycled tin lids and beer bottle tops, hammered and shaped, then painted and varnished. The artists also recycle tobacco tins and other objects into miniature works of art.
The beautiful range of genuinely unique and highly wearable recycled jewellery allows the wearer to be different whilst also making a difference.
